December 2013

It was a dream for us, a team of three, to travel to the Himalayas and attempt to conquer one of its highest peaks, Poon's Hill.

It is a first for me; as I struggle with finances everyday while working at Mcdonald's during my semester holidays in order to save as much as possible for this trip, and making sure that I have enough items to bring along with me for the trek. Toothbrush, Metal Cup, Spoon, a tiny First-Aid Kit, a big water bottle, a sleeping bag, are some of the items I would bring to ensure that my basic needs are secured. I have a history of asthma, so I would bring that much needed bottle just in case I have a relapse in the middle of the trek. At the same time, an image of my parents and me together would be placed in my purse just in case I miss them on the way to the top!

I was not very sure if I could conquer the mountain at first, as I always feel dizzy when I look down from higher ground, and will feel nauseous after that. As my friend, Donny, always says, 'Lizzy gets dizzy when she looks down from fuzzy heights!' I told myself I really got to show them I am ready to join the big boys when it comes to adventurous stuffs!

There we climbed, and I did scratched myself a little as I tumbled and fall after slipping on snow, but I didn't want to appear meek and cry in front of the boys like I usually do, so I picked myself up simply, gritted my teeth and moved on!
Finally! We were near the summit, and i managed to bring along my small digital camera with me, and we decided to take a photo that we hope will remain as one of the sweetest memories of my life!

Loves,
Lizzy. L
